Job Description
The QC Level 2 Welding Inspector will provide on-site quality control and assurance support, helping to ensure that welding, fabrication and installation activities comply with approved Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), project procedures, applicable codes, specifications and recognised industry practices.
The role requires a methodical approach to inspection activities from planning through to reporting and close-out. You will conduct project surveillance inspections, assess inspection results against defined acceptance criteria and ensure that findings are clearly and accurately recorded. Where quality concerns or deviations are identified, you will be expected to communicate them responsibly and provide appropriate technical input within the scope of the role.
A key part of the position is maintaining reliable quality documentation throughout project execution. Inspection records, supporting data, quality dossiers and data books must be compiled progressively rather than left until project completion. This requires strong organisation, attention to detail and an understanding of the importance of traceability in quality assurance.
You will also verify that measuring and inspection equipment used during quality activities is in suitable condition and correctly calibrated. Your inspection work must support safe execution and demonstrate consistent compliance with project procedures, processes, codes and quality standards.
The working environment requires practical experience in construction, fabrication and industrial projects. Previous exposure to power, petrochemical, mining or process plants is important, together with experience involving boiler pressure parts, piping installation and associated quality control. Familiarity with OEM installation instructions will support effective inspection and verification of site activities.
Prommac places Safety First and expects every employee to take responsibility for the quality and safety of their work. People Centricity is reflected in respectful communication and constructive collaboration with project stakeholders. Agility is important when responding to changing site priorities, while Responsibility means maintaining professional judgement, accurate records and consistent compliance even when working under pressure.
Candidates should be comfortable working independently while remaining an effective part of the wider project team. The successful applicant will bring sound technical judgement, a disciplined approach to inspection and the ability to communicate quality requirements clearly.
