Job Description
As a Learner QA/QC Inspector (Mechanical), you will assist the Quality Control team with inspections, records and the progressive completion of quality-related work. Your role will support accurate documentation and the preparation of complete quality records for client handover.
You will work under the guidance of senior QC personnel when inspecting mechanical components, equipment, piping and supports. This provides an opportunity to learn how inspection procedures, checklists and quality standards are applied in an industrial working environment.
The role combines practical inspection support with careful administration. Recording findings clearly, keeping documents organised and reporting concerns promptly are essential parts of the position. You will also assist with Quality Control Plans, punch lists, quality dossiers and data books.
Industrial maintenance and shutdown work requires focus, coordination and a responsible approach. You should be comfortable following instructions, working under supervision and maintaining attention to detail when working under pressure. Overtime may be required.

- Follow applicable inspection procedures, checklists and quality standards, together with the safety requirements relevant to each task.

- Assist with preparing Quality Control Plans (QCPs), inspection records and punch lists, keeping the supporting information organised.
- Maintain quality documentation and ensure records are correctly filed and stored for use throughout the work and at handover.
- Identify basic defects and non-conformances, and report them to senior inspectors for assessment and guidance.
- Assist with preparing quality dossiers and data books, checking that the required inspection records are included.
- Support the progressive completion of QC punch items in coordination with the operations team and under QC supervision.
- Help check that inspection records and quality documentation are complete and accurate before they are submitted for client handover.
- Follow company HSE procedures, risk assessments and safe work practices. Report unsafe conditions, incidents and injuries to the relevant supervisor.
- Participate in training, ask questions when instructions are unclear and apply guidance and constructive feedback from experienced QC personnel.
