Job Description
The Permit to Work Coordinator will be responsible for administering and controlling the Permit to Work system throughout the TAR event. The position plays an important role in ensuring planned and emergent activities are properly authorised, risk-assessed, communicated and completed in accordance with Prommac and client HSE requirements.
Working closely with operations, construction, maintenance, HSE, planning and contractor teams, the successful candidate will coordinate permits for activities including hot work, cold work, confined space entry, excavation, working at height and electrical isolation. The role will also support the effective management of simultaneous operations, isolations, Lock-Out/Tag-Out processes and permit handovers between shifts.
A strong understanding of shutdown and turnaround environments is essential. The Permit to Work Coordinator must be able to assess competing work fronts, identify potential SIMOPs conflicts and help ensure that permit preparation supports the TAR schedule without compromising safe execution.
The position will involve P&ID walkdowns, isolation coordination, blind and blank list management, register maintenance and regular communication with supervisors and permit receivers. Accurate documentation is critical, including the tracking of live, suspended and closed permits, confined space entries, isolations and de-isolations.
Prommac expects every team member to demonstrate Safety First, People Centricity, Agility and Responsibility. In this role, that means making sound decisions, communicating clearly, responding quickly to changing site priorities and maintaining consistent permitting standards throughout the event.
