Job Description
The QA/QC Instrumentation Inspector will support construction and commissioning activities by monitoring the quality of instrumentation installation, calibration, testing and associated documentation. The role requires close attention to project drawings, specifications, inspection and test plans, approved procedures and relevant industry standards.
A core responsibility will be conducting surveillance inspections and verifying that instruments, devices, loops and associated equipment are installed correctly and are ready for the next stage of construction or commissioning. This includes confirming calibration status, configuration, identification, installation quality and testing results before work is accepted or submitted for client review.
The successful candidate will review calibration certificates, loop folders, test reports, inspection records and supporting QC documentation to ensure information is complete, accurate and traceable. Where defects, deviations or non-conformities are identified, the inspector will record and communicate them clearly and support their timely resolution.
Quality documentation is an important part of this position. The QA/QC Instrumentation Inspector will maintain quality dossiers, data books, calibration records and inspection documentation throughout the project lifecycle. The role will also coordinate the close-out of instrumentation punch items and help ensure that QC packs and loop folders are completed and handed over within project deadlines.
Before documentation is submitted to the client, the inspector will verify that each package meets the required standard. The role is expected to contribute towards the project target of no more than two client comments per QC pack and zero Category 1 client punch items. This requires disciplined checking, accurate recordkeeping and a proactive approach to resolving quality issues before submission.
The position also involves participation in quality meetings, inspections, audits and continuous improvement activities. Calibration and testing equipment must be checked to confirm that it is maintained appropriately and remains within valid calibration periods.
Prommac expects every team member to contribute to a working environment built around Safety First, People Centricity, Agility and Responsibility. For this role, that means carrying out inspections carefully, communicating quality concerns constructively, responding promptly to changing project priorities and taking ownership of the accuracy and completeness of inspection records.
The ideal candidate will be comfortable working within a structured project quality system and engaging with construction teams, quality personnel, commissioning teams and client representatives. Previous experience in petrochemical, oil and gas, mining, power generation or similar industrial projects will provide the practical understanding needed to operate effectively in this environment.
