Job Description
Prommac is looking for an experienced Welding Coordinator to join our site team in Uzbekistan for a TAR event at an industrial gas facility. This contract opportunity requires strong welding coordination, technical compliance and site leadership experience within demanding turnaround or shutdown environments.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for coordinating welding activities across multiple work fronts while supporting the delivery of the TAR schedule. The role requires close collaboration with construction, QA/QC, NDT and project management teams to ensure welding work is performed safely, efficiently and in accordance with approved procedures, applicable codes and client requirements.
Job Description
As Welding Coordinator, you will oversee the day-to-day coordination of welding operations throughout the turnaround. You will ensure appropriately qualified welders are allocated to work in accordance with the applicable Welding Procedure Specifications and that qualification and continuity records remain accurate and current.
A key part of the role is maintaining control over welding quality throughout execution. This includes confirming compliance with approved WPS and PQR documentation, monitoring welding progress and supporting the effective resolution of welding defects, repairs and NDT rejects. You will work closely with QC and NDT personnel to coordinate inspections, hold points and testing activities without compromising safety or quality.
You will also coordinate welding resources against the TAR programme, monitor productivity and identify potential constraints that could affect planned completion dates. Where manpower, equipment, consumables or performance concerns arise, you will be expected to communicate these promptly and support practical corrective actions.
Consumable control is another important responsibility. The Welding Coordinator will ensure electrodes, filler materials and other welding consumables are correctly selected, stored, issued and traceable. Electrode baking and handling requirements must be maintained in accordance with applicable procedures and manufacturer requirements.
The working environment will be fast-paced and schedule-driven. Candidates must therefore be comfortable working extended hours and shifts where required during the turnaround. Prommac expects every team member to maintain a Safety First approach, take Responsibility for the quality of their work, remain Agile when site priorities change and contribute positively to a People Centric working environment.

- Monitor productivity, welding progress, repair rates, NDT results and emerging reject trends.
- Identify welding resource constraints and escalate issues that could negatively affect the TAR programme.
- Support compliance with hot work permits, fire watch controls and all site HSE requirements.
- Prepare clear daily and weekly welding progress information for QA/QC and project management teams.
